CyberArmy is an independent union of Internet users for a self-regulated Internet. We are always seeking recruits, and invite you to join CyberArmy now! Through our Brigade system you can gain officer status in CyberArmy, access various resources, and your views and ideas can help to further strengthen and expand this online community.
What you can do right now
- The Forums: post, reply, and join the conversation.
- Brigades: team up, organize, and climb the ranks together.
- Sered: the challenges are back from start to finish. A few parts had to be reworked to run on current technology, but the full challenge is here.
- Accomplishments: earn recognition for what you pull off and show it on your profile. (we've hidden a few easter eggs around the site.)
- The Library: post and read articles.
- The Wiki: community knowledge you can browse and help build.
- Polls: have your say and see what everyone thinks.
- Projects: find something to work on, or start your own.
- News and feeds: keep up with the latest across the site, with feeds you can follow.
- Email forwarding: claim your own @ca-sered.com address that forwards straight to you.
- Your HQ: your profile, skills, and messages in one place.
- Your member page: your own corner of CyberArmy available at /~username
- The Portal: helpful tools and news.
We've brought a lot back at once, so expect a few rough edges. If something looks wrong, won't load, or doesn't behave, please let us know. Reply here or use the Contact page, and tell us which page it was and what you were doing. It all helps us fix things quicker.
What's next
There's more coming. We're working on two things:
- A reimagining of CyberArmy: not just the old site restored, but a new version of it, this will be available over on cyberarmy.net shortly.
- One identity across the network: link your accounts between ca-zeb and ca-sered and carry your rank with you, so your standing in one counts in the other.
With thanks
A big thank you to Anomaly over at ca-zeb for letting us use his IRC infrastructure. Parts of Sered wouldn't be back without it.
Welcome back.
- The CyberArmy team

The CyberArmy is organized into specialized brigades which each perform unique tasks for the community. The brigades provide our central command structure. If you want to progress in the CyberArmy, the brigades are where you need to look.
Everyone starts out as a Recruit on joining CyberArmy, and can earn the rank of Trooper when they join a Brigade or Project. As you contribute to projects and your Brigade you will be recognised by being promoted through the ranks as seen below. By gaining a higher rank you will receive more respect and responsibility within the community and possibly be put in charge of your own group to lead.

As an officer in the CyberArmy, you will receive the opportunity to test your computer security (hacking) ability against our Sered war-game system. Sered is designed to push an officers knowledge to the limits in order to break through each level of security. For each level successfully compromised, officers receive a special "Sered rank", and a place in the Hall of Fame. There are five of these ranks, and each is exponentially more difficult to earn than the previous one. Special privileges come with Sered ranks, and additional learning is always required to progress.
